Syrian regime continues its exclusionary policy against the liberated neighborhoods and cities in the governorate of Daraa, as it's still reducing the allocated hours of electricity till they reached one and a half hour at best per day concurrently with the continuation of the power cuts in most of the villages of the western countryside of Daraa like Inkhil, Jasim, and Nawa since approximately 3 years. The thing that pushed some civilian and military entities in the town of Al-Musayfirah in the eastern countryside of Daraa to cut the power of the regime-held city of Daraa through the power plant located in the town. Such a power cut could deprive the security branches and the military command of the city from electricity and use this as a pressure card to force the regime to increase the share of electricity in the liberated areas so as to reach 4 hours a day at least.
A field source from the town of Al-Musayfirah confirmed to Baladi News that the regime is about to respond to our demands as it suffered the lack of electricity for two days.
On the other hand, a civilian from the countryside of Daraa, said to Baladi News: "we support the rebels in any step they take to alleviate our suffering here in the liberated areas especially when it comes to our basic needs like water and electricity". "we can endure the power cut in the liberated countryside of Daraa in case this will help to improve the situation of electricity in these regions", he added.
The lack of life basics in the liberated regions pushed the rebels to use such a method in order to achieve equality between the rebel-held and regime-held regions regarding the electricity supply, but at the same time, the rebels are still afraid that the regime will stay adamant as it has alternatives for electricity.
