- Japan Grants Damascus Children Hospital 10 Million Dollars


Japan has agreed to donate 10 million Dollars to the Children hospital in Damascus, the hospital's administration announced on Wednesday.

The administration said that this was a result of a visit by a delegation of the World Health Organization to the Children's Hospital accompanied by two delegates from Japan.

The Director of Children's Hospital «Mazen Haddad» said that there is coordination between the Ministries of Higher Education and Foreign Affairs with the World Health Organization to provide the grant, to carry out comprehensive rehabilitation of the hospital for construction work in the building for the Emergency rooms and clinics consisting of 7 floors.

Haddad pointed out that the hospital asked the health organization, a complete set of equipment such as MRI and CTs, Dialysis units, archiving system, monitors, bronchoscopy device, ambulances, operating table equipped with a monitor, 20 beds for intensive care, one Million dollars worth of rare medicines.

It is noteworthy that the Children Hospital is the only hospital specialized in pediatric diseases in Syria, where it receives between 500 to 700 children on a daily basis.
