- Hundreds of Syrians on Saturday afternoon, took the streets carrying the bodies of Orouba Barakat and her daughter Hala, in the city of Istanbul, Turkey.
The funeral was held from Al-Fateh Mosque with the presence of representatives from the Syrian opposition coalition and other Syrian opposition political figures. The people chanted slogans condemning the murder of the young journalist and her mother.
On Thursday evening, Turkish police found the bodies of Orouba Barakat, 60, and her 22-year-old daughter, Hala, at their home in Istanbul, where preliminary investigations show the murder was committed with knifes.
