- #Assad forces takes over 70% of the UN aid going to the eastern Ghouta

- #Assad forces have seized 70 percent of the supplies from relief convoy trucks provided by several organizations and are on their way to the besieged Eastern Ghouta, a WHO official said on Monday.

The official added that Assad's forces "rejected all first aid kits, surgical supplies, dialysis and insulin, which were taken from the WHO warehouses during the inspection."

The United Nations said on Sunday it had received approval to enter the convoy to the besieged eastern Ghouta, which has 400,000 people.

A convoy of international aid entered on 14 February through the arrivals camp to the Marj area in the eastern Ghouta in the Damascus countryside.

It is noteworthy that Assad's forces backed by a militia from #Hezbollah and #Iran, impose a suffocating siege on the eastern villages and towns of Ghouta, resulting in numerous deaths due to malnourishment.
