- Agencies (IRW) – “Iran is not bound by the truce agreement announced by Russian President Vladimir Putin and US President Donald Trump,” Foreign Ministry spokesman Bahram Qasimi said on Tuesday.
He said that Iran would not be a guarantor of the US-Russian agreement and would continue to consult Moscow under the understandings reached at the Astana talks on the Syrian issue.
He also pointed out that his country will accept the truce if it is circulated to the rest of the Syrian territory, by supporting the understandings that took place in Astana on the de-escalation agreement, stressing that the deployment of Iranian forces in those areas as one of the guarantors.
