- Fighting In Eastern Ghouta Drives Out 50,000 Civilians: U.N.

The UN Humanitarian affairs spokeswoman Linda Tom said on Thursday that fighting in Syria’s besieged area of Eastern Ghouta has driven all civilians out of the towns of Mesraba, Hammouriyeh and Mudeira, which had a combined population of 50,000 in December.

Tom said “The civilians were displaced to other areas not under government control, adding to the 15,000 or so people that the U.N. estimated were displaced within eastern Ghouta at the end of January”

#Assad regime aims to advance in Eastern Ghouta and divide 2 parts, where its forces captured several farms and towns during the past few days as it follows the scorched earth policy in its fight against the Syrian opposition forces in the area.
