- Five Children Died In The Eastern Ghouta As A Result Of The Siege Imposed By The Syrian Regime

The United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) announced on Sunday the death of five children in the eastern Ghouta in the countryside of Damascus which is besieged by the forces of the Syrian regime backed up by foreign militias.

"One hundred and thirty-seven children between the ages of 7 months and 17 years need an immediate medical evacuation for conditions ranging from kidney failure to severe malnutrition and conflict-related injuries," UNECIF said in a statement.

"Five children reportedly died because they could not get the medical care they needed," the statement said, without giving further details on the date.

The eastern Ghouta covered by the de-escalation agreement is witnessing a fierce attack by the forces of the regime and the Russian warplanes, leading to the deaths of more than 150 people, and left a large number of wounded, which worsens the humanitarian situation already deteriorated by the siege and the lack of food and medicine.
