- Damascus (IRW) - #Assad, made this morning speech at the opening of a conference of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates in the Syrian capital #Damascus.
Assad said at the beginning of his speech that Syria has lost the finest of its young men during the last seven years, but it has won: «a healthy homogeneous community », while western countries describes as «snake changed its skin according to positions», pointing out that «but we were able to thwart the Western project».
"Russia used its veto many times in the Security Council to defend Syria's unity, as did China," he said.
"As long as fighting continues against terrorism, there is no place for the idea of diviing Syria," he concluded. "The aim of the de-escalation areas is to stop the bloodshed, deliver humanitarian aid, get out the militants and return to normal life."
